g. How does the play make a satire on the feudal system?

The play ‘The Bull’ reflects the horrible acts towards ordinary people in the feudal system.  It portrays the miserable condition of ordinary people in the feudal system. It tries to reflect how ordinary people have been dominated. The rulers were cruel. There wasn't value of ordinary people. The play shows that the king’s animals receive more respect, comfort, and care than the people there. The people there are living in terror and they are hiding their reality to save their lives in front of the king. Thus, the play satires the feudal system showing the oppression and dehumanization of the king’s worker.

 Sketch the character of Laxminarayan.

Laxmi Narayan Dahal is one of the central characters of the play ‘the bull’. He is forty years old, one of the legal officers and bull’s doctor in the palace of the king Rana Bahadur Shaha. He has married with seven wives. He is still unsatisfied with all of them and planning to marry eighth one. When he learns about the king’s bull’s death, he flatters the king using his intellectual moves. Instead of telling the news of bull's death, he tells the king about the bull’s sickness. When king arrives to the cowshed at thulo Gauchar to see his bull, Laxminarayan tells the cowherds to massage bull's feet and wave fan to it in order to please king and save his life. Seeing activities of Laxminarayan and cowherd, they became able to save them from the king’s punishment. Therefore, we can say Laxminarayan was a cunning man and he unmastered the king with his trickery.
